Fresh Gallery Ōtara,
A group exhibition of work by six emerging Pacific artists whose art practice spans diverse mediums turning a Pacific lens onto modern masculinity by seeking to re-interpret queer indigeneity and questioning the dominant narratives about identity.
The title is Poly-centric, G.G means ‘Gay Guy’, a term used in Auckland’s urban Pacific vernacular to describe male/masculine identified Gay Pacific males.
Darren Tainue and Pati Solomona Tyrell, from G.G. Talk That Talk are joined by spoken word poet Manu Vaea to activate Fresh Gallery Ōtara with a showcase of Pacific Movement.
